"My name is Leahcim James and one of the biggest struggles I had growing up was my desire to fit in not knowing that I was meant to stand out.

I was born in Kingston, Jamaica and I moved to New York City when I was 5 years old. As a kid, I had such a strong Jamaican accent that none of my friends could understand me and everyone made fun of the way I spoke. Also, I have a very unique name that most people can’t pronounce, so I was very insecure as a kid because I just wanted to speak proper English and have a normal name like all of the kids my age.

When I became a teenager, I started to realize that my Jamaican culture and unique name was not a disadvantage, it was actually my secret weapon that made me more unique than everyone else.

As an adult, I have fully embraced who I am and where I am from and as a result, I became a CEO at the age of 22 and have inspired and coached over 5,000 people because I stopped trying to fit in.

The moment I realized that the goal of life is not try fit in, but to stand out and be true to who you are was the day I started my journey in becoming a leader."
