“I deal with borderline personality disorder (BPD) I was diagnosed around ‘11-‘12. It’s a daily struggle because I never know what mood I may be in. I struggle with being triggered from some of the slightest things that can send me into a depression state that can last from a few minutes to months. Accepting I’m not ok has helped me in multiple ways, from helping others, to sharing my story, to using my boxing career as a platform to bring awareness. This disorder has shown me that even the strongest person can reach a breaking point. Therapy has been the biggest game changer for myself, everyone should seek some form of therapy at least once.

My coping methods and tools are boxing, therapy, my plants, and turning my apt into my safe place.

What motivates me to keep going is that I don’t want my kids growing up without having a dad. Some days are harder than most honestly. I don’t want them to experience what I’ve been through.

Some advice that I’d give is that it’s ok not to be ok. It’s ok to say you need help and seek it professionally. Therapy is scary, but it’s worth it."
